Partner with Us to Renew Northern’s Historic Campus

A Legacy of Care

For over 170 years, Northern Children’s Services has supported children, youth, and families in Philadelphia. Since 1923, our 6.5-acre Roxborough campus has been home to that mission, first as a state-of-the-art "orphanage" and now as a community-centered hub for trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.

Today, more than 1,500 people each year rely on Northern for behavioral health services, residential and prevention programs, wellness activities, and healing. While our services have grown and evolved, our physical campus has not kept pace.

Aging infrastructure, limited accessibility, and outdated spaces are making it harder to deliver care with the comfort, efficiency, and flexibility our community deserves.

That is why we have launched A Place to Thrive, a $7.1 million campus improvement campaign. These upgrades will help us ensure Northern continues to be a safe, inclusive, and joyful place to support well-being and growth.

With your support, we can meet the moment, expand our reach, and strengthen the spaces that make healing possible.
